Laura Misch has gigged and written songs with her Beat Tape-making little brother. But she's recently stepped sideways into the limelight, selling out her first headline gig last year, and supporting Roy Ayers and Soweto Kinch. She shares her sibling's smooth jazz leanings, and says she started playing sax aged 11 in rebellion against being made to learn violin like him. Looped sax and synth parts make an unexpected bed for her gorgeous, folkish voice.
