Open Development Program

In 2016 a group of engaged citizens tried to buy and develop The Oudaan, a protected modernist tower in Antwerp. They didn’t succeed to buy it, but discovered a solution for buildings that seem difficult to develop like heritage.
This is when they decided to build the Open Development Platform, an online platform that guides and supports citizens to cooperatively buy and develop buildings that are not interesting in the regular real estate market.

Maarten Desmet, architect and co-founder of Endeavour - the initiator of the Oudaan project – will explain how the ODP wants to eradicate vacancy and make our cities more inclusive and diverse at the same time.

For Good

For Good is an impact driven enterprise striving to improve the ecological footprint of its users, once and for good. The founders of For Good developed an automated service (smartphone app and online platform) that helps users evolve towards a more sustainable way of living by tracking and adjusting their behaviour in terms of transport, food and energy consumption. The users become more active in the growing For Good community in a fun and easy way.

In addition, For Good also developed Challenges so cities, schools, companies and organisations can also start working on their footprint. The Challenge is like a sustainability game in which several teams compete with one another to save as much CO2 as possible. Not only can they achieve CO2-reduction targets but their employees are also actively involved in this ecological mission. The employees take action and determine the ecological footprint of the company.
