Kristof De Mey loves the intersection of sports (science), technology innovation and entrepreneurship. Therefore, he facilitates sports technology transfer activities and industrial collaborations at Victoris, the consortium of experts in this area at Ghent University. He obtained his PhD in Health Sciences in 2013 and is now mainly stationed at the Sport Science Laboratory - Jacques Rogge.
Kristof frequently travels to capture the latest trends in his field and meet new and inspiring people. He believes that in a competitive world, collaboration is key.
With the launch of the Sport-up.be initiative, he started a community of Belgian sport startups. Next up is the start of the first Belgian accelerator or incubator program for tech minded entrepreneurs in sport.
Kristof has been involved in organizations as Pecha Kucha Ghent, Startup Weekend and many others. He likes to combine strategic thinking with an open mind spirit.
